Description
The basic design of an experiment to study magnetic reconnection in three-dimensional configurations is discussed. Such configurations contain null points of the magnetic field and separatrix surfaces. The fundamental design and basic parameters of the TS-3D device are presented; this is intended to study such processes and allows the initial magnetic configuration to be varied over a wide range. 20 refs., 6 figs
