Breathing mode quantization in an extended SU(3) Skyrme model

Description
Extending the SU(3) Skyrme model of pseudoscalars by adding a massive scalar field improves the predictions for the baryon mass differences when the breathing mode is quantized. The magnetic moments and ga/gv ratios of semileptonic hyperon decays are only mildly affected by this additional scalar field. Despite the baryon wavefunctions deviating strongly from SU(3) symmetry the ga/gv ratios are compatible with the SU(3) relations. (orig.)
