The standard molar enthalpies of formation and heat capacities of PbMoO4 (s) and Pb2MoO5 (s)

Highlights: • Standard molar enthalpies of formation of PbMoO4 (s) and Pb2MoO5 (s) determined. • Heat capacities of PbMoO4 (s) and Pb2MoO5 (s) were measured using DSC. • Cp data were compared with Neumann-Kopp rule. The standard enthalpies of formation of PbMoO4 (s) and Pb2MoO5 (s), at 298.15 K were determined by solution calorimetry and are found to be (−1059.6 ± 2.2) kJ mol−1 and (−1274.7 ± 2.3) kJ mol−1, respectively. The heat capacities of PbMoO4 (s) and Pb2MoO5(s) were measured using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The measured heat capacities as a function of temperature are expressed as:Cp<PbMoO4>(J K-1mol-1)±4.1=127.31+30.47×10-3T-1.79×106T-2(T:313798K) Cp<Pb2MoO5>(J K-1mol-1)±6.2=169.20+66.69×10-3T-1.99×106T-2(T:308798K)
