Description

The gamma processing industry depends on a reliable, long-term supply of cobalt-60. Since providing the first C-188 cobalt 60 source in 1964, Nordion has continually expanded and diversified its supply of cobalt to meet the needs of the industry with an exemplary safety and security record. Nordion's expansive network of cobalt-60 producing reactors and large fleet of licensed shipping containers can comfortably meet the industry's needs in the near and mid term. Nordion has dedicated resources to meet the demands of the industry in the future through its Extend, Expand and Develop program. Additionally, Nordion has a well established program for the safe and secure return of spent sources for recycling and disposal. This presentation will provide insight into the actions underway today which will provide reliable cobalt-60 supply and disposal for the future. (author)
