Method for recording rare fissions of atomic nuclei
Description
Declared is a method of nucleus fission rare event registration by means of dielectric detectors with visual identification of the fission fragment traces. To find the fragment traces quicker, the detector two joint layers are exposed: one thin layer serves for searching the traces using the break-down method and the second thick layer is visually inspected through the zones located near the place of the thin detector spark break-down. To reduce the total area for visual inspection of the thick detector due to phone decrease appearing as a result of the thin detector structural and mechanical defect pickling, the latter is subjected to pickling only on the side facing the thick detector. The pickling reduces the plastic layer random damage and defect reading out by approximately 4-5 times. The method under description applies polycarbonate as the detector thin layer and polyethyleneterephthalate - as a thick layer
