Description
We study the consequences of Stevenson's optimized perturbation theory applied to the second-order QCD calculation of the moment of the photon structure function F2/sub γ//sup n/. The singular lnn term present in the second-order coefficient in the conventional calculations based on the modified-minimal-subtraction and momentum-space-subtraction schemes is completely absorbed into the effective mass scale. Comparisons with other analyses are also made
