Effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties of precipitation hardening Nb-Zr-N alloys
Description
Effect of thermal treatment on short-term tensile properties of Nb-Zr-N alloys in the temperature range from 20 to 1200 deg C is studied. Maximum strength with decreased ductility is provided by the following thermal treatment: quenching from 1600-1700 deg C (hold-up during 1 h) and ageing at 1000 deg C during 20 hours. Alloy strength increases with strengthening phase amounts. Additional alloying with molybdenum at all test temperatures increases alloy strength as well as ductility
