Ternary compounds in the Y-Ag-Al system and their crystal structures

Description
The crystal structures of new ternary compounds Y8Ag19.4Al46.6 (space group I4/mmm, Yb8Cu17Al49-type structure, a=0.88277(3), c=1.66994(8) nm, RI=0.072) and Y3Ag1.5Al9.5 (space group Immm, La3Al11-type structure, a=0.42827(1), b=1.26026(3), c=1.00312(3) nm, RI=0.081) have been determined for the first time. The atomic coordinates and the Ag and Al atom distributions in YAg5.2Al6.8 (ThMn12-type structure), Y1.8Ag8.3Al8.7 (Th2Ni17-type structure) and YAg2.5Al2.7 (DyAg2.4Al2.6-type structure) have been refined.
