The use of a rapid nuclear reaction in the detection of carbon in platinum thin films

Description
Quantitative analysis of carbon in thin films of platinum prepared by d.c. reactive sputtering in argon containing a low percentage of methane was achieved using the 12C(d,p0)13C nuclear reaction. The results are compared with those obtained by X-ray microprobe analysis. (Auth.)
