Hermetization end plug of fuel element with outlet of a measuring line

Description
The hermetizing end plug is attached to the fuel element can. It is formed by a zirconium-based outer part, at the inner end of which is a cylindrical step whose surface is fitted with a chromium interlayer; this is inserted in the cylindrical opening in a reducing piece which is made of steel. A central opening is formed in the outer part and in the reducing piece; this opening houses the measuring line embedded in a sealing layer. The connecting sealing layer is made of a palladium-nickel-silicon-based alloy and is obtained by vacuum soldering at 1130 K. (M.D.). 1 fig
