Coherent scattering by an inhomogeneous plasma column
Description
The microwave power scattered by a circular cylinder of inhomogeneous plasma contained in a glass tube is computed with the aid of the Frobenius method. It is found that computed and experimental values are in good agreement in the range 0.2< lambda /R<3.0. Values are also computed for wavelengths of 8 mm and 3 cm for a range of collision frequencies with the electric vector parallel or perpendicular to the cylinder axis.
