The nuclear delta-excitation

  • 1. Erlangen-Nuernberg Univ., Erlangen (Germany, F.R.). Inst. fuer Theoretische Physik

Description

The way we will approach this problem is to introduce the baryon as the basic nuclear constituent and to treat the nucleus as a Many Baryon System including both, the external as well as the internal degrees of freedom. Consequently, a complex nucleus is expected to exhibit a nuclear excitation spectrum in the region of the elementary baryon resonances, reflecting the excitation strength of the corresponding many baryon eigenmodes. This will be discussed in detail later on for the Δ(3,3) isobar. (orig./HSI)
