Surfaces and interfaces of high Tc superconductors studied with SRPES
- 1. Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp., Musashino, Tokyo (Japan). Applied Electronics Labs.
Description
Interface characteristics between contact metals or junction materials and oxide superconductors are analyzed with synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy. A new surface processing technique based on these SRPES experiments, consisting of O ion sputtering and in situ Au deposition processes on YBa2Cu3Oy realizes very low contact resistance. A strong interface reaction at the Si/YBa2Cu3Oy system for junction formation suggests that amorphous Si is not a good candidate for the junction material. (author)
