New refineries look to export to US
Creators
Description
High demand for refined products in the US has led to a rash of proposals for new refining capacity there. Many of these schemes are likely to founder as US environmental regulations make it impossible to build refineries on greenfield sites. This may create an opportunity for refiners in other countries to become export refiners serving principally the US market. Some existing refiners do this already, notably those operating in the Caribbean. (author)
