Connection for pulse supply of the betatron electromagnet
Creators
Description
The connection increases the mean radiant power of the accelerator and reduces thermal losses in the electromagnet. The current of the electromagnet is easy to stabilize and control. The connection involves a controlled full-wave rectifier formed by the second and third switching elements with a breaking circuit and by the fourth and fifth switching element. A capacitor is connected to the input, and the betatron electromagnet is connected to the output. The underlying principle of the claim is a series connection of a dc power supply and a pulse switching element, connected in parallel to the fourth and/or fifth switching element. A voltage-stabilizing circuit is connected in parallel to the capacitor. Time-out can be achieved between the electromagnet current pulses for suppressing parasitic oscillations disturbing the function of the accelerator, this function being independent of the mains frequency.
