Description
Heat capacities of boron arsenides (BAs and B6As) have been measured in the range of 55-310 deg K. The analysis of heat capacities of BAs and B6As indicates that they have high values of the characteristic Debye temperature. The temperature dependence of the heat capacity of B6As in the range studied is close to the linear one. Determinations are made also of the entropy, enthalpy and Gibbs energy function for boron arsenides in the range 0-55 deg K (within accuracy of 10 %). Changes in entropy, enthalpy and Gibbs energy function are calculated from experimental values of Csub(p) with the error of <1%. Because of small values of thermodynamic functions in the range 0-55 deg K the accuracy of standard values of entropy, enthalpy and Gibbs energy function at 298.15 deg K is approximately 1%
