Mechanical system surveillance test interval optimization

  • 1. Cambridge Univ. (United Kingdom). Dept. of Engineering

Description

The Monte Carlo simulation technique making use of well-developed neutron transport theory is applied to study the behaviour between the availability of a standby system and the frequency of functional test periodically given to the system and, therefore, to optimize the test frequency. The promising results obtained confirms the concept and methodology used. (author)
