Betatron method for plasma heating up to high temperatures

Creators

Description

A betatron method for plasma heating up to high temperatures based on an increase in plasma temperature with an increase in the magnetic field is described. Two methods of betatron heating are considered: a momentary adiabatic one when field accretion covers a longer period than the time between collisions and a multiple ''ballistic'' one with a reverse relationship. The problem has been solved for a model - an infinite straight tube with the magnetic field directed along the aixs. The results are compared with the method of heating by longitudinal electric current
