Excitations of the gravitational field-I
Description
The geometry of spacetime is treated as a stochastic variable. Fluctuations induce a deviation from Einstein's system of equations for the average geometry. A model is presented to deal with the fluctuations by expanding the perturbations on a series in the average geometry. As a consequence, some qualitatively new features appear. The influences on galaxy formation and on the propagation of gravitational waves are analyzed

Trata-se a geometria do espaco-tempo como uma variavel estocastica. As flutuacoes induzem um desvio em relacao ao sistema de equacoes de Einstein para a geometria media. Apresenta-se um modelo para tratar as flutuacoes, expandindo as perturbacoes em uma serie na geometria media. Em consequencia, alguns aspectos qualitativamente novos aparecem.
