On the 'rationalisation' of Fick's first law
Creators
Description
It is shown that the rationalisation of the Fick I law proposed by Howe [Scripta Mater 47 (2002) 663] generally cannot be proved from a detailed atomistic (kinetic) approach, and it can be valid only in very trivial limit (very dilute solution), for which the usual and proposed forms of Fick's first law are equivalent
