Separation of Tl(III) from Tl(I)

Description
A method for the separation of Tl(III) from Tl(I) is reported employing 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) and Rhodamine-B as extracting agents. The separation based on the extraction with PAN appears to be superior to the one using Rhodamine-B. (author)
