Description

Parity nonconservation effects in neutron scattering on nuclei are treated, viz.: rotation of the spin of the transversely polarized neutron, and asymmetry in the scattering of the longitudinally polarized neutron. Existence of the P resonance in the compound-nucleus states results in a considerable enhancement of the effects. Their dependence on the neutron energy is studied. Parity nonconservation effects are estimated for the neutron scattering on the 117Sn nuclei. A new method different from the standard projection-operator approach is suggested to write the scattering amplitude in the spin space. The enhancement of the parity nonconservation effects, and the potential-model calculation results are discussed together with appropriate data
