Synthesis and X-ray structure analysis of the polymer trimethylstannyl pertechnetate, {(CH3)3SnOTcO3}n

Description
Reaction of Tc2O7 with (CH3)4Sn yields besides {(CH3)3SnOTcO3}n (5) also CH3TcO3 (4) and [(CH3)2TcO2]2 (3). 5 is not isomorphous with {(CH3)3SnOReO3}n (6), the trimethylstannyl perrhenate, though both compounds have a zickzack chaine structure. 5 is monoclinic (C2h5-P21/c) with a = 961.6(9), b = 764.5(6), c = 1190.1(7) pm, β = 91.16(7)0, Z = 4, V = 874.71 x 106 pm3, droe = 2.48 g/cm3. While 6 possesses a crystallographic mirror plane 5 does not. (orig.)
