Description

A geological radiometric survey was conducted on some Cenozoic basins located in the 2nd and 3nd Region of Chile. The purpose was to discover some phosphatic indications related to oolitic (''Mejillones'' type) or conglomerate ('' Bahia Inglesa'' type) model. the results are indicated and, some geological characteristics of the Araujo Basin are presented. The available information related to geological conditions of Cenozoic marine sedimentation in coastal platform, would suggest that the best possibility to find phosphatic resources is located between parallels 230 and 310 So.
