Competition in the telecommunication sector and in electricity supply - a comparison
Description
In the electricity sector as well as in the telecommunication sector crucial changes concerning the applicable legal basis are emerging in the near future. The fact, that, in both cases, a widerspread network ist a prerequisite for any activity has led to the situation, that the two sectors are often being compared with each other with a view to the creation of a more competitive regulatory framework. The auther describes the present situation of competition and, proceeding from these considerations, analyses opportunities to introduce additional competition in both sectors. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Sowohl in der Elektrizitaetsverordnung als auch im Telekommunikationssektor zeichnen sich tiefgreifende ordnungsrechtliche Veraenderungen fuer die nahe Zukunft ab. Das es sich in beiden Faellen um Taetigkeiten handelt, die die Existenz eines flaechendeckenden Netzes voraussetzen, werden die beiden Sektoren haeufig mit Blick auf die Schaffung eines staerker wettbewerbsorientierten Ordnungsrahmens miteinander verglichen. Der Verfasser beschreibt zunaechst die derzeitige Wettbewerbssituation und analysiert davon ausgehend die Moeglichkeiten zur Einfuehrung zusaetzlicher Wettbewerbselemente in beiden Sektoren.
