Charm particle physics. A Tool-box for QCD

Description

The charm quark is the first of heavy quarks and it is produced in hard collisions by disturbing mechanisms. The author shows that the charm particles can be used as probes in the study of QCD perturbation theory, that the study of charm hadron decays can be a good laboratory for studying the contribution of strong interactions to these processes and explains that the charm quark is the only one heavy quark having an electric charge of 2/3 whose the properties can be studied in detail: study of D -antiD oscillations, CP violation, rare mode decays of charm particles
