Description
The zero applied magnetic field Moessbauer spectra of a pH 7 lyophilized sample of acetyl-microperoxidase-8 (AcMP8) reveal the co-existence of two chemically distinct species. Both components show temperature-dependent spin equilibria; at low temperatures the first approaches an S=5/2 ground state, while the other becomes predominantly low spin (S=1/2). (orig.)
