Absolute efficiency versus gamma-ray energy for P- and N- type HPGe detectors
- 1. National Univ. of Malaysia, Bangi, Selangor (Malaysia)
Description
The absolute efficiency curves as a function of gamma-ray energy for a P-Type and three N-Type HPGe detectors were determined, where the source to detector distances (SDD) was fixed at 25 cm. Results show little difference in efficiency at energy 1332 keV, but as the energy decreases, the efficiency curves start to depart with the N-Type detectors ultimately reaching a higher efficiency than the P-Type detector. In comparison with the manufacturer's curves, the obtained curves only agree in principle in their shapes, but differ in the efficiency values. This probably due to the different SDD used by the manufacturer. For the relative efficiency at 1332 keV of Co-60, the measured values lie between the manufacturer's warranted and measured values
