Thermal physics investigations with diagnostic fuel rod bundles on Rheinsberg NPP

Description
The diagnostic fuel rod bundles employment requires special neutronics and thermal physics analysis for basing the reliable reactor operation. The calculations were performed with the use of PYTHIA, DYCO-1, DYCO-3and READY-1 codes. Though the experiments gave evidence of lower flow rate to be possible as compared with the calculations, this fact resulting from conservatism of the 'hot channel' method adopted in those codes. This approach can be improved by proper selection of the feed back coefficients for READY-1 code. The modified calculation technique provides good agreement with experimental data
