Resonator test facility

  • 1. Univ. of Washington, Seattle

Description

Progress on the test facility to date has largely been in the specification and procurement of rf components and test equipment needed for the lab. This facility is required to make measurements of quarter wave resonator (QWR) parameters such as Q and the resonant frequency. It will allow the authors to operate the QWR's both warm and at superconducting temperatures, at power levels simulating LINAC operating conditions. The first low beta prototype resonator was tested at Stony Brook and that experience was useful in writing specifications to obtain the appropriate capability
