Volume 54/No. 4 covers the months October, November and December 1986 and presents daily satellite cloud mosaics, as received and processed at the Berlin HRPT-station in form of 'Das Europaeische Wetterbild'. The images are displayed in a polar stereographic projection with a scale of 1:25 millions. Each 'Europaeisches Wetterbild' contains two mosaics from the afternoon and early morning receiving periods. All necessary informations about satellite, channels and orbital data are given in heading and caption. The foreword brings short contributions to the following subjects: Monthly sea ice distribution in the Atlantic-European part of the Arctic; Calibration AVHRR infrared channels NOAA 9. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Fuer die vierteljaehrlichen Zusammenstellungen der taeglichen 'Europaeischen Wetterbilder' des Jahres 1986 sowie kurze technische und wissenschaftliche Mitteilungen ist Band 54 (Heft 1-4) vorgesehen. Es ist dies der 21. Band mit Wettersatellitendaten aus dem Berliner Empfangsbereich. Das vorliegende Heft 4 enthaelt neben den taeglichen Bildern und Erlaeuterungen dazu noch folgende Informationen und Artikel: Die Eisgrenze im europaeisch-atlantischen Sektor der Arktis der Monate Oktober, November und Dezember; Eichung der AVHRR-Daten (IR) fuer den Wettersatelliten NOAA 9.
