Precision measurements of F2(x,Q2) and xF3(x,Q2) by the CCFR/NuTeV collaboration using νμ scattering at the Tevatron

Description

We present a re-analysis of measurements of the nucleon structure functions F2(x,Q2) and xF3(x,Q2) derived from νμ(ν-barμ) charged current interactions. The results were taken from a sample of 1,281,000 νμ and 270,000 ν-barμ events obtained in two runs of the Fermilab Tevatron Quad-Triplet Beam using the Lab E neutrino detector. The data show a Q2 evolution of xF3 consistent with that expected from QCD. The analysis presented incorporates improvements in the analysis and calibration over previous analyses of this data. We present two new results: (1) a measurement of F2 for x>1 and (2) evidence of an F2 discrepancy with the charged lepton experiments at small x
