Plasma wall interactions in heated plasmas
Description
The author discusses plasma-wall interactions in heated plasmas and their relevance to the controlled thermonuclear fusion program. He notes that to increase the plasma temperature in Tokamaks from the value reached by ohmic heating toward the value necessary for self sustaining fusion reactions, a tremendous amount of additional power is needed. The injection of high energy neutral particles or by high frequency electromagnetic radiation are discussed as power sources for this need
