Description
The RCSP by percutaneous intrasplenic injection of 113mIn or 99mTc-colloid is a method for evaluation of the morphology and function of the portal venosystem. One normal liver and 64 cases suspected to have portal hypertension (P.H.) were studied. Five types were established by analysing the dynamic images, hepatic-cardiac curves, PSSI and IHSI. Type 1 (+-) was suspected to have P.H. (SI 0.1); II(+) had P.H. without shunts (SI 0.14); III(++) had P.H. with shunts (PSSI 0.18 ∼ 0.45, IHSI 0.16 ∼ 0.55); IV(+++) had P.H. with collateral circulation (PSSI 0.35 ∼ 0.65, IHSI 0.43 ∼ 0.60), V(++++) had P.H. with complete extrahepatic shunts (PSSI 0.72 ∼ 0.98 IHSI?). It is found that RCSP may be useful for the diagnosis, evaluation and follow up study of pre- and post-operative P.H. patients
