Current status and future improvement of BWR plants

The improvement of availability and reliability of nuclear power plants is an important task of today. Toshiba has continued efforts for technological improvement and development on the basis of its experience and actual results in order to execute the important task well. As to the improvement and standardization of light water reactors promoted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the first stage has borne fruit. On the other hand, the improvement of BWR programed by the international cooperation with foreign BWR manufacturers is also well under way toward taking root of BWR technology. (author)
