Electric power supplies in nuclear reactors

Creators

Description

The main objective of this lecture is to highlight the importance of securing independent and highly reliable out-door and in-door electric power supplies to make the operation of nuclear reactors as safe as practically achievable (ASAPA). Electric power sources are necessary for reactor start up, normal operation, ubnormal operation and emergency conditions safe shutdown and maintenance functions. For these functions the following points are considered: - functional description. - safety objectives. - need for electric power source(s) to satisfy the safety objectives. - safety classification of electrical loads involved. 3 fig
