The Atomic Energy Board has developed a promising technique - the continuous ion exchange(CIX) process - for the recovery of uranium. The Blyvooruitzicht Gold Mining Company, which accommodated the highly successful demonstration plant is now spending R10 500 000 on extentions and conversions to full CCD/CIX.
