Electron quasi-ellastic scattering and the Perey effect

Description

To determine the effect of the nuclear potential nonlocality on electron quasielastic scattering in the (e, e') reaction electron inelastic scattering has been measured on Be9, C12, N14, O16, Al27 nuclei. The measurements have been carried out on a electron linear accelerator at the electron energy of 800-1200 MeV and the scattering angles of 16-40 deg. The experimental cross sections have been analyzed in the region of quasi-elastic peak in dependence upon the energy transferred ω. It has been established that a relative suppression of the cross sections is observed at ω(<=)80 MeV due to interaction of an unobserved nucleon with a residual nucleus in a fini state. This characteristic dependence may be interpreted as manifestation of the ''Perey effect''
