Report of the meeting in fiscal 1995 of Yayoi Research Group. 5. Workshop report on the technology and application of LINAC

Description

Recently, studies on short pulse quantum beam have been progressing and also the studies on laser wake field acceleration and laser photocathode have been accumulating. In this meeting, the present status of generations of picosecond and femtosecond quantum beams and the utilization were reported. Possible abilities of femtosecond LINAC as the LINAC in the next generation were discussed as well as its utilization. The research theme reported were as follows; the initial process of beam-material interaction, ultra-short quantum beam science in Osaka University, the present status and the future plan for sub-picosecond LINAC in University of Tokyo, the present states of the development of x-band high-frequency acceleration system, the development of laser wake field accelerator, etc. This meeting was held on March 11, 1996.
