Description
The research objective of the 1st year was improvement of electrical conductivity of most suitable ceramic anode materials for use in elector-reduction of UO2 spent fuel in LiCl-Li2O molten salt mixture electrolyte. During the 2nd year, compaction method and sintering behavior of ceramic anodes thus selected were evaluated. Suitable ceramic materials with reasonable good electrical conductivity and ease of compaction and sintering were selected : Fe3O4, LiFeO2, Sn2, LiCoO2, NiO. Practically feasible fabrication method was established to improve electrical conductivity and other physical, mechanical properties of the selected ceramic materials
