Diffusion titanium coatings on iron and low carbon steels
Description
The titanium coating on commercial and cermet iron and low-carbon steels from the gas phase of titanium chlorides was investigated in the temperature range of 950-1050 deg C and at a decreased pressure. The thermodynamics and kinetics of the titanation process was studied. Metallographic, X-ray phase analyses, and measurements of hardness and chemical resistance of the coatings in some media were carried out
