Study of the magnetic hyperfine field acting on 140Ce probes In NdAg by TDPAC spectroscopy and ab-initio electronic structure calculations

Description

The magnetic hyperfine field (MHF) acting on Ce nuclei inserted as probes within the NdAg inter-metallic compound was studied by perturbed angular correlation spectroscopy complemented with first-principles electronic structure calculations. It is found that the main contribution to the Ce MHF at low temperatures is due to the own Ce 4f shell. (author)
