Numerical studies of random pressure induced vibrations of pin ended rods and tubes

  • 1. New South Wales Univ., Kensington (Australia). School of Nuclear Engineering

Description

This work is concerned with the elastic vibration of pin-ended rods and tubes due to stationary surface pressure fluctuation. The particular problem of interest is the significance and validity of Bernoulli-Euler, i.e. simple beam theory, for the prediction of displacement and strains, or the interpretation of measured differential axial surface strain in the general field of flow induced vibration of rods and tubes.
