Parity conservation and statistical theory of monomolecular reactions

Description

It is pointed out that in statistical theory of monomolecular reactions alongside with conservation of total energy and total angular momentum conservation of total parity should be taken into account. Using a model example of triatomic complex decomposition it is shown that near the threshold decomposition rates of different - parity complexes differ significantly. Conditions, under which decomposition rate constant can be calculated regardless of parity conservation, are determined
