Description

The effect of the residual pressure on the mechanical properties of steel 12Kh18N9T under uniaxial tension and at a test temperature of -100 deg C has been investigated. It has been established that the properties of steel 12Kh18N9T depend on the degree of rarefaction. The maximum change in the properties is observed at a pressure of approximately 5x10-4 mm Hg. Under these conditions the ultimate strength and fluidity are approximately 100 and 58 kgf/mm2, while at atmospheric pressure they are equal to approximately 92 and 50 kgf/mm2, respectively. A further pressure reduction only slightly affects the mechanical properties of steel 12Kh18N9T
