Multiple scattering effects on the excitation and ionization of a rapidly moved atom in a solid
Description
Theory of perturbation and ionization of atom, moving in a solid body, taking account of the accompanying changes of medium properties in the atom neighbourhood, is formulated. Results of calculating the mean lifetime of a hydrogen atom in a carbon film are presented. The order of values in the calculations and in the experiment appears to be similar. Agreement with the experiment can be considered as satisfactory. 16 refs
