The present trends in biology of ionizing radiation are reviewed. On a rassemble l'essentiel des connaissances actuelles en biologie de l'action des rayonnements ionisants. Les points suivants ont ete traites: absorption des rayonnements ionisants dans la matiere; radiolyse de l'eau et des solutions aqueuses; proprietes des radicaux libres impliques dans les couples oxydo-reducteurs O2/H2O et H2O/H2; radiolyse de composes d'interet biologique; effets biologiques des radiations ionisantes; processus biochimiques impliquant des intermediaires radicalaires; applications diverses (applications biotechnologiques, origines de la vie)
