Experimental demonstration of nanosecond optical parametric amplifier in YCOB

Description
In this letter, we provide the experimental demonstration of nanosecond optical parametric amplification in YCOB centered at 1572 nm. The optical gain characterization of YCOB crystal was simulated and tested in this optical parametric conversion. A saturated OPA gain of 2.4 was obtained. The results confirm that YCOB crystal has the potential to be used in a high-energy cascade of MOPA parametric amplifiers at 1572 nm. (letter)
