Carbon-12 induced fission of 209Bi at 84.2 MeV

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Radiochemistry Div.

Description

The 12C induced fission of 209Bi at particle energy of 84.2 MeV has been studied using gamma ray spectrometry. The cross sections for the production of fission products have been determined. The charge distribution has also been studied and the relative fractional cumulative yields of 92Y, 97Zr, 99Mo, 101Mo, 105Rh, 112Pd and 117mCd determined. The yield distribution of fission products has been found to be broad (FWHM ≅ 18) with a peak near mass ≅ 105. (author). 7 refs., 2 tabs
