Role of neodymium in the metallurgy of cast iron
Creators

Description
In the paper results of the research in the field of the influence of neodymium on the structure and some mechanical properties (UTS, HB) of grey cast iron are presented. In the range from 0.05 to 0.1% Nd a change of the shape of graphite precipitations from flake to vermicular is going on. Higher Nd additions cause transformation from vermicular to nodular graphite. Consequence of such changes in the structure of cast iron are corresponding changes in tensile strength UTS and hardness HB. (author)
